What do my fees pay for?
The co-op course fee is not a job placement or job-finding fee. Instead, this fee pays for the entire operations of the Co-op Program and is not connected to any one service provided. The majority of the fees are allocated to staff salaries, which support the smooth operations of the program.
The Co-op Program operates year-round, which means you have access to our services whenever you need them and until you graduate. We are here to support you regardless of where you are in your co-op journey - seeking your first work term, on a work term, or just finished your last work term -we are here to help.

Here is a breakdown of how the Co-op Course fee is used:

What is the return on my Investment?
All co-op work terms are paid, ensuring a strong return on your investment despite the programs fees. Based on 2024 data, the total co-op fees paid, excluding UBC student fees (e.g., health & dental, student union, athletics & recreations, etc.) amount to approximately $3,700, while students typically earn around $67,000 over four work terms. This not only helps offset the cost of your degree but also provides you with valuable experience to support a smooth transition into full-time employment after graduation.
